My Ah Beng colleague!!!

This morning before we went to lunch, one of my ah beng colleague said he got something to tell and the story goes like this:-

Last saturday night, my ah beng colleague feel very lonely at home (still single ma) so he decided to go out have tea with his friend at mamak stall. As normal, they watch football match, talk non sense and "kap lui" over there. Till 2a.m in the morning, my ah Beng colleague feel tired so he decided to leave and go home have a good sleep.

When he reach his house, just like normal he open his room’s door. But dunno y today the door seem being lock by somebody. Although my ah beng colleague share his room with another room mate, they seldom lock door. Then he start his imagination

"May be he just went out have tea like me."

or

"May be he’s not coming back today"
So he just take out his key and try to open the door. Dunno what happen to him that day, my Ah Beng colleague seems very blur. He tried to open his door using a wrong key. so he keep looking for the right key.

Finally, he got the right key and "Chik Chak" the door got open. Right after the door open, he feel something wrong in his room! The room light is off and it’s very dark. At this moment, the weak light from the living room lighten a small corner from his room and that’s his room mates bed.

As part of normal reaction, he turn his head and look at his room mate bed. Right when his head turn to that angle, he saw something moving (Edited: or maybe i should say something shaking with bit) and suddenly stop! Ah Beng very scared, he thought that may be a thief. While Ah Beng tried to see more clearer, that object move again and closed the door!

So now Ah Beng know that’s a person and he looks like his room mates. This time Ah Beng was stunned and dunno what to do. Suddenly there is a sms ring on his phone.

** DI DI **

The message goes like this:-

"Sorry for disturb. Please wait a while."
(Edited: i think this should be "Sorry Beng, haven’t finish la, pls wait a while ya." lol )

and the sender is Ah Beng’s room mate.

So Ah Beng sit in the living room and wait lo. While he is waiting outside, he heard some voice coming from the room.

A: "Already told you dun wan, u … … … !"
B: "… … …"

Now Ah Beng know what he saw just now. ( LOL )

Edited:
p/s: if you don’t understand nevermind. cuz i’ve take off some of the extreme scence.

Malaysia web hosting industry

Recently i read an interesting post in webhostingtalk.com.my. There is one angry customer complaint about a local hosting company in the forum. This angry customer has a web hosting account with them and there is a 10 days downtime due to some hardware failure (i think is HDD crashed). According to this customer, the company didn’t contact them at all (no email notification, no phone …) Poor thing.

I do remember i ask them once before whether they perform any backup. And, you know what they tell me? We are running RAID, in case of one HDD fail, we can swap a new HDD for restore. RAID so what? RAID 100% safe meh, nothing is 100% one la. it can have some unpredictable incident happen.

I personally experience HDD crashed inccident b4, the HDD is not able to recover and all my data lost!!! i really feel sorry to some of my friends! After this inccident, I get a host that perform weekly backup. and sometimes i’ll perform the backup myself too. This is to protect from any disaster.

I wonder how many hosting company in malaysia do perform backup (i know many of them claim tat they perform backup every night). but how many of them perform restoration test to ensure the backup files is in good condition?

I know the market is very competitive and prices are lower n lower everyday. I wonder how they going to make money with those super cheap package (oh ya, they can make $$$ if they fully load the P4 server with several hundreds of account). Cost to upgrade HDD increase, price droping everyday, at the end of the day, who is going to suffer? Supplier is the one who going to suffer.

When supplier suffer, they will sell cheap to gain back their capital. Cheap price always attracts customer attention, then server will be loaded with many accounts. When too many account loaded in one server, server load increase, slow performance, etc etc etc. If anyone of the client send spam then the situation become worst. IP got blacklisted, then other user in the same IP cant send email due to blacklist. havent mention about the hackers, if the server admin not experience, then hacker able to gain access to the system and do some funny things there, etc etc etc

Consumer also dun always look at CHEAP pricing, sometimes quality is also very important. Unless you don’t mind your site down just like eating the Chipsmore biscuit "Now u see, now u don’t " :)

Remember Good things SELDOM come in cheap. you can test your luck, hope you r the lucky one and dun like the hosting company mention above. (oh ya forget to tell u, they said they have invest a lot in RAID to their customer, so i think this is the reason y they do not need to do backup)

Lunch at Manhattan Fish House

Yesterday I went out lunch with a bunch of my colleagues together with my boss at KLCC. Everyone do not know what to eat. One of our lady colleague said "Mum told me try to avoid chicken, bird flu!". In Malaysia chicken is the most common food we eat everyday. Now bird flu hit Malaysia and I really got no idea wat to eat.

We walk n walk n walk. suddenly everyone stop in front of a nice restaurant and their banner shows Manhattan Fish House. I remember i heard this restaurant before from my obelad gf. According to her, the food here quite expensive! Oh too bad, since there is bird flu attack, and everyone seems wan to give it a try, at the end we had our lunch in this nice classic restaurant.

I ordered a dunno wat "Baked wat wat dori", and customer can choose to have it with chips or rice. As i’m a "rice pail", i choosed rice :) After 15 mins the food arived and the fish is so fresh! The color of the fish is white + a little bit pink. it was baked with some special herbs i think. It’s quite tasty. I like the way they cook it. but too bad it’s too expensive!

A dunno wat "Baked wat wat dori" + a sprite cost me RM 25!
Too bad i didnt own a digicam, if not at least i can take some pictures and post it on YummyCorner.com
