Hi, i'm looking for a little advice please. I'm new to all this,my tank has 4 Neon Tetra, 1 Siamese fighting fish, i recently introduced 2 female tuxedo platy but my siamese didn't take to them at all. He kept attacking them so i had to take them back to the pet store (gutted as they were lovely) instead i Brought home 2 Albino Cory as a replacement to complete my tank. When i introduced them into the tank, i noticed when they went near the rocks that there was 3 tiny baby fish hiding. I am in shock and do not really know what to do it is impossible to catch them, i am assuming that the short while that the platy were in my tank 1 of them has gave birth!!! My Siamese seems to be hanging around the rock they are hiding under as if he knows. What are their chances of survival and what can i do to help them? Please some advice on this will be very much appreciated. Thanks Karen

whenever ur angel fish lay eggs, do not disturb ur fish and do not go near your tank.
else your fish will think that u r the intruders and they will try to protect their child by eating them.

Experience breeder told me that you need to cover your tank with newspaper for few weeks when your angel fish lay eggs to prevent them being shocked. and this way you will have all ur small fishes grow big :)

I have 2 sunburst platys and lastnight my boyfriend noticed that one of the platys belly is a lot bigger then the other one. we compared belly sizes and it sure is bigger. We got home from work and it was booting around the tank like a crazy fish, and now suddenly it's at the bottom of the tank in a corner breathing heavy not doing anything. Somoeone suggested that its pregnant and i've never had a pregnant fish before so I'm not sure. Please help im so nervous, my fish are my babies is this normal is their pregnant

This is what I have in my 2 10G tanks:

Community Tank-
1 Male Mickey Mouse Platy
1 Female Mickey Mouse Platy
1 Female Silver Wag Platy
5 Neon Tetras
1 Female Opaque Betta
1 Ramshorn Snail

Planted Fry Tank-
1 Otocinclus
7 Two Month Old Platy Fry
15+ 2 Week Old Platy Fry
1 Ramshorn Snail

My success comes from getting the females pregnant in the main tank, then moving both of the females to the Fry Tank. There's enough Java Moss to where the fry survive and my females don't even try to eat them. :) I found out that my Male Mickey Mouse Platy has the Tiger Platy Gene, so I have 5+ Tiger Platy fry so far!! I'm going to breed the Tiger Platies, and their body color is Smokey Gray with Black fins and thin Black stripes. I posted some pictures of my fry in this forum thread.

Also... Should the tank be bare bottom? Both of my tanks have gravel, top of the line filters, air stones, a piece of drift wood, and several plastic and cloth plants. I had to put a large dragon in the 20 because they chose the largest decoration in the 55 to breed on.
